Q&A: Greco's new leader "has the ability to do it all"

When Josh Brandsted applied for and got his first job coming out of college a dozen years ago, he didn’t know that it would be for the company he would someday lead.

Brandsted, who has been president of Minneapolis development company Greco for the past five years, was named a managing partner in the business at the start of the year and now has a 50 percent ownership interest. Company founder Arnie Gregory picked Brandsted for the role after the New Underwood, South Dakota, native worked his way up from running the books for one of the Greco’s apartment buildings.

Now 37, Brandsted will be running much of Greco’s workload and leading the company’s 45 employees. Greco just finished work on the Sable condominiums it built as part of United Properties The Nordic project, a property that is just down the street from Greco’s offices in the Copham apartment building the company renovated in Minneapolis’ North Loop neighborhood. Greco currently manages about 900 apartments in the Twin Cities, but is seeking to grow that number to about 2,500 over the next few years.

Brandsted will lead that push.
